You've connected your Heart & Brain SpikerBox into your machine and want to get great ECG signals but your SpikerBox hasn't been recognized at all by Spike Recorder.

And when you go to your Device Manager, it shows some strange FT231X driver with a yellow ! mark. What do you now?

Here are couple of guideline how to fix that issue and get that driver installed. But first let's brief you up with what are you dealing with.

FTDI drivers or better yet VCP drivers (FTDI is company which makes those drivers)  cause the USB device to appear as an additional COM port available to the PC

1. In the link below there are multiple options, depending on which type of OS you are using. For Windows you'll download the 2.12.28 driver version, while taking into concern what is your CPU architecture e.g. x86 (32 bit) or x64 (64 bit).

Once you've clicked on the version number, it will automatically download as a zip file in your chosen directory.

2. There are 2 options how you can install those FTDI drivers.

*One is automatically by downloading the FTDI CDM driver software by clicking the setup executable, which downloads the .exe file of the software. Then you can easily go through the installation process described in the guide from page 6 to page 9, chapter 3.3.

**Important note: The Heart & Brain SpikerBox must be plugged in after running the setup .exe to complete the installation.
